• Achieving excellence in the early years:a guide for headteachers (2015) from Early Education.   If you want to find out more about high quality EYFS  practice in a nutshell then this book is for you.  Dame Alison Peacock, in her introduction  describes the chapters in the book as giving a 'visionary, yet detailed explanation of what early years teaching provides, leaving the reader in no doubt of the capacity of such practice to transform children's lives for the better' (p.10).  Chapter 5 looks at Quality teaching; skillful teaching in the early years taking the Ofsted definition of teaching as its starting point
